Further Information

Thank you for visiting the Woodford Youth F.C. web site.  The table above provides a brief summary of Club information.  Further contact and personnel information can be found here.

Woodford Youth F. C. provides training and playing facilities for over 200 children. Training takes place for the entire Club every Saturday at Forest Road Playing Fields, Hainault with League and friendly matches played on Sunday at William Torbitt Primary School. An overflow 11-a-side pitch is located at Walthamstow.

Teams are coached by F.A. qualified coaches, qualified from Level One to Three.  New coaches are supervised by a qualified coach, until they have successfully completed the F.A. Level One coaching course.

The Club has in place, a Child Welfare Officer, Child Protection Policy and Codes of Conduct which are agreed by parents and players upon registration with the Club.  All personnel in contact with the children undergo a CRB check.  All our coaches and a number of parents have gained First Aid Certificates.

We are fortunate to have had a number of parents volunteer to undertake refereeing courses.  This has enabled the Club to field four F.A. qualified referees at weekend fixtures where available.

Players are selected on a trial basis.  Please contact individual team managers or the Club Secretary to arrange a trial.  Click here for current players wanted.

Woodford Youth F.C. are currently working towards achieving the F.A. Charter Standard Award.  Our aim is to submit our application for this Award during the current season.  We have had in place the criteria required, since the Club's formation.  It is our hope to have this officially recognised with the achievement of the Charter Standard Award.

Kit and Equipment

Kit, uniform and Club identity are important.  Therefore, all teams play in Nike team wear.  Kit comprises orange shirt, black shorts and orange socks.  Brand new kits are distributed to every registered player at the start of the season.  Nike weatherproof jackets are distributed every other year, with all new players receiving a new jacket upon registration.  Many sponsored teams purchase track bottoms and sweat tops with sponsorship funds.

Woodford Youth F.C. provides all coaches with full Nike uniform comprising black jacket, track bottoms, sweat shirt and black polo shirt. In addition coaches are provided with top quality training equipment and footballs.  Additional equipment may be purchased with team sponsorship funds.

All kit and equipment supplied by:

Events

'Foxes on Tour'. This annual weekend away is a big date in the Foxes calendar.  With an average attendance of around 300 Woodford players and their families, the 'Mighty Orange Army' descend on the holiday venues en masse!  Extraordinary Tour success, particularly during the 2007/08 Tour has been enjoyed, with the superb Woodford Club spirit well and truly consolidated on these trips.

Presentation Evening.  The end of the season is marked by a series of Presentation Evenings.  The awards ceremonies honour the achievements, hard work and dedication of our players, coaching staff, volunteers and even fans!  Local press photographer Tony Hussey attends the events to provide photgraphic memories of these celebrations.

Summer Tournament Programme.  In addition to the regular League and friendly matches during the season, all Woodford Youth F.C. teams participate in a programme of F.A. Affiliated Summer Tournaments.  These Tournaments, hosted by fellow junior football clubs are a great opportunity to enjoy a fun day out for players and parents alike.

Woodford Youth F.C. Summer Tournament.  This event is held annually at our home ground, has also proved to be a great success, year after year.  The 2007/08 Tournament was held over two weekends, with dozens of top quality teams in attendance.

Fundraising

The 2008/09 season sees the formation of a Fundraising Committee.  The Committee has responsibility for organising fundraising events.  The Committee will help decide where funds are best spent for the benefit of our players.

Sponsorship

We are fortunate that the majority of Woodford teams have once again gained sponsorship for the 2008/09.  However we do have a few teams without sponsorship, so anyone wishing to sponsor a team, please contact the Club Secretary for full sponsorship details.
